German chess figures (Timeless) Indian acacia/beechwood 3.5 inches

The set includes 32 chess pieces, 16 light and 16 dark.

We present to you one of the most famous sets of chessfigures in the world. These are the classic Timeless chess figures, made of boxwood and Indian acacia. They were created in the popular and chess-loving German Staunton style, and were played and are still played at the biggest chess tournaments – World Championships, FIDE Olympiads, the Linares tournament, Dortmund, the Tata Steel Chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee.

As an interesting aside, Timeless figures are unofficially recognised by FIDE as a tournament model. The twin figures are used by DGT in the development of electronic e-board sets.

All figures are carefully polished, felt-lined and solidly weighted. The size of these figures corresponds to our Staunton No. 5 figures, and the Staunton No. 6 wooden trunk and chess boards with 45-50 mm fields are ideally suited to this set.
